Summer Recipes – Icecreams and Icy Summer Drinks

Summer is here finally and it’s sizzling hot!! Bright sun shining makes you want to have cool refreshing drink that can give you the energy to bear the heat. Summer drinks can be alcoholic and non- alcoholic depending on your taste. Now by making drinks using variety of vegetables and fruits can turn out to be good and healthy. Whether it is an elegant cocktail party or a cozy get together, summer drinks are an essential requirement. Here we will discuss some amazing summer drink recipes that will help you keep yourself cool and fresh in this hot season. Also I will add some ice cream recipes that are best for this season.

Alcoholic Summer Drinks

This collection of alcoholic summer drink will definitely refresh you especially when the summer is at its peak. You can have these drinks either when you are relaxing at home or when entertaining friends.

Pomegranate Cocktail

Ingredients

1 ½ cup vodka
1 cup freshly extracted orange juice
2 cups of pomegranate juice
½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup of grenadine

Method

Combine all the above mentioned ingredients in medium sized pitcher so that all these ingredients are properly mixed. While serving use ice and twist of lemon and use tall glasses.

Jamaican Margaritas

Ingredients

¼ cup liquor – orange flavored
1 cup hibiscus blossoms – dried
1 ¼ cup tequila
½ cup freshly extracted lime juice
8 lime slices
¾ cup sugar

Method

Properly wash hibiscus blossoms to ensure that all dirt traces are removed. Take some water in a medium sized sauce pan and heat it while adding sugar. When this boils, add dried hibiscus blossoms into it. Before straining the liquid simmer it for 10 minutes. Remove hibiscus blossoms and refrigerate the liquid before combining it with orange flavored liquor, lime juice and tequila. Your Jamaican Margarita is ready, garnish it with lime slices and serve it chilled.

Nonalcoholic summer drinks

Orange and Grapes Cooler

Ingredients

1 liter chilled ginger ale
1 cup grape juice
½ cup orange juice
½ cup sugar
1 cup water

Method

Boil water and sugar in medium sized sauce pan. Continuously stir the mixture to ensure that sugar is dissolved properly. Cool the mixture and than add grape and orange juice. Refrigerate it for at least 2 hours. While serving add ginger ale into it and enjoy!

Ice-creams

Mango ice-cream

Ingredients

1 cup mango pulp
1 packet whipped cream
1 cup condensed milk
1 egg white
A pinch of saffron
1 tbsp castor sugar

Method

Mix mango pulp, sugar and saffron in the condensed milk in bowl and add properly beaten egg. Then gently fold in the whipped cream and mix it. Put this mixture into a deep tray and covered it with foil. Keep the tray in freezer till it is properly freezes. Before serving transfer it to refrigerator for 5-10 minutes to softer the ice-cream. Slice the ice-cream and serve it the sauce of your choice.

Pineapple ice cream with crunch

Ingredients

1 cup pineapple – canned
½ liter milk
80z milk – evaporated
250 grams fresh cream
A few drops pineapple essence
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla custard powder

Method

Add sugar and custard powder in milk and boil it while continuously stirring it till the mixture thickens. Remove the mixture and cool it. Add the properly bitten egg , evaporated milk, fresh cream, essence and pineapple and stir the mixture well. Move this mixture into the airtight container and freeze it for 3-4 hours. Take the mixture out from the freezer and blends it with ice crystals so that the mixture becomes creamy. Keep it again in the freezer till it sets. Serve the one or scoop of ice-cream with crunch garnish.

To make crunch

To make crunch add one cup of sugar in two table spoon of water and stir it in low heat till sugar dissolves and the mixture turns golden brown in color. Pour the mixture in to a tray and cool it. Once cooled crush it and your crunch is ready to be served with the ice-cream.
