Summertime is the best time for grilling, so now is the time to start getting your grill ready! Cooking on the grill not only makes food delicious, but also helps in keeping your house cool in the hot summer. No more sweltering hot kitchens – take it all outside. And best of all, it’s a great way to spend quality time with your family. So summer is here and its time for you to take a closer look at grilling, and see just how much value you can really get from a simple barbecue grill.
When you’ve got the whole outdoor as your kitchen, there’s enough room to get the whole family involved in the meal preparation. No more hot, cramped kitchens! And every woman knows that if you want a man to help with the cooking, all you have to do is get out the grill. There seems to be something in most men that makes them very happy to grill up food on the barbecue, even men who don’t usually like to help out in the kitchen. And even more help for Mom – cooking outside means less to clean up in the kitchen later.
Eating outside makes grilling even more fun, it’s because there’s no more stress or worry about spillage or dropped food. However, eating outside does have its own perils. So there are a couple of things that can make it easier. Kid friendly, reusable plastic plates and heavier utensils are always a good investment, whether for eating at home or on picnics. Do pick out some sturdy containers for your napkins and condiments that are heavy enough they won’t fly away when it’s windy. Speaking of wind, make sure you get some tablecloth clips, to keep the tablecloth from blowing away too.
After being trapped inside all day at work and on the commute home, it’s great to have dinner outside with your family, and cooking on the grill is the perfect excuse. There’s plenty of light in the evenings on longer summer days, and the evening air is cooler than mid-day, so it’s perfect for that meal ‘al fresco’. So many people plan their grilling for the weekend, but an evening grilling with the family is the perfect midweek pick-me-up.
Now coming to the point as to how to do grilling, here are some tips that might be useful. Marinating the meat beforehand tenderizes the meat and adds a flavor. A secret to tender, moist, tasty meat and fish is the cut you choose. The best cut for grilling steaks is a full one inch thick. When using charcoal, douse the coals with the least amount of starter fluid as possible to light the fire. If starter fluid is unavailable, try using regular salad oil. Wad a sheet of newspaper and pile the coals over it, then douse the coals with the salad oil. Light the paper as you would be using normal starter fluid. Whenever one is barbequing, use tongs to turn the meat.
I hope these tips were useful for you guys, enjoy grilling!!
